Interfaith Dialogue Chair The Chair for Interfaith Dialogue represents an attempt to use the common values and concerns of various religions to serve as a basis for the development of resolution for the conflicts in the region and beyond. This Chair includes both academic and social pursuits by providing religious education programs, dialogue opportunities, research projects, and community-building projects within the context of interfaith dialogue. The Chair position attempt to increase cooperation and understanding between faith communities through the creation of dialogue opportunities for religious leaders and religious scholars. The expectation is that through a systematic and jointly organized series of research, dialogue, educational and cultural events and programs, participants will develop deep and meaningful relationships of trust that will carry them forward into a future in which they will effect a positive change within society.Past Events

Mormon Jewish Dialogue Conference May 10, 2007, Netanya, Israel
As part of our ongoing activities to advance dialogue between Mormon and Jewish peoples, on May 10, the Center held an academic conference in which Mormon and Jewish scholars studied the similarities and differences between each culture and religion. Topics included shared values put forth by the prophets, a comparison of pioneer culture as depicted in the visual arts of each culture, and the legacy of Joseph’s meeting with his brothers.
"Brothers Sitting Together": Musical Dialogue between Mormon and Jewish Choirs
October, 2006, Salt Lake City, USA At a musical dialogue event in Salt Lake City, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, perhaps the most famous choir in the world, and the Voices of Israel Choir, comprised of a select group of cantors from various cities in Israel, performed for one another in front of an audience of thousands, each teaching the other of its unique musical traditions. The dialogue between the unending yearning of the Jewish cantorial tradition and the sublime harmonies of the Mormon choral tradition produced a fascinating cultural conversation. During this event, the conductor of the Voices of Israel choir was invited to conduct the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
